Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

- Partner information (name, pay schedule, income - encrypted)
Local Device Storage
Important: Your financial data including expenses, savings goals, and mortgage/rent information is stored locally on your device only. This data is not uploaded to our servers. This means:
- Your financial details remain private on your device
- We cannot access or recover this data
- If you delete the app or clear app data, this information will be permanently lost
We recommend keeping your own records of important financial information.
Data Encryption
Sensitive information stored on our servers (such as partner income details) is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption, an industry-standard security measure. This ensures that even in the unlikely event of unauthorized database access, your financial information remains protected.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our services
- Process your transactions and manage your budget
- Send you technical notices and support messages
- Improve and personalize your experience
Email Communications
Spliggo sends two types of email communications:
- Transactional emails: These are service-related messages triggered by actions you take, such as welcome emails upon account creation, verification codes, and password reset notifications. These emails are necessary for the delivery of our services and cannot be opted out of.
- Marketing emails: These are optional promotional messages, product updates, tips, and other content we believe may be of interest to you. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email.
To deliver these emails, we use a third-party email delivery service. We share only the information necessary for email delivery, such as your name and email address. This service processes your data on our behalf and is bound by contractual obligations to protect your information.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Sensitive financial data stored on our servers is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption. Data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected using HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Third-Party Services
Spliggo uses the following third-party services to provide functionality:
- OpenAI API: Powers our AI assistant features for expense parsing and smart suggestions. Text you enter when using AI features may be processed by OpenAI. We do not send your financial data to OpenAI - only the text you explicitly provide to the AI assistant.
- DiceBear API: Generates avatar images based on your selected style. No personal information is shared - only a random seed value is used to create your avatar.
- Email delivery service: Handles the delivery of transactional and marketing emails on our behalf. Only your name and email address are shared for the purpose of sending emails.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With your consent or at your direction
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect our rights and prevent fraud
Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, at our sole discretion, that your use of Spliggo violates our terms of service or applicable laws. Reasons for suspension may include, but are not limited to:
- Abusive, fraudulent, or illegal activity
- Violation of our terms of service
- Behaviour that disrupts or harms other users
If your account is suspended, you will be unable to sign in or access the service. If you believe your account has been suspended in error, please contact our support team to request a review.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct or update your information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt-out of certain communications
